Sidereal Astrology Readings
What is Sidereal Astrology? Western Sidereal astrology is just one of a few different sidereal methods, and it's very similar interpretation-wise to what you may be familiar with, but the math and astronomy are different. Tropical astrology, what 90% of people use and know, says that Aries starts on the Spring Equinox, and that's the beginning of the zodiac. It is a seasonal based calculation, which is fixed to a date and does not change. "Sidereal" literally means of, relating to, or expressed in relation to stars or constellations. This means that sidereal astrology accounts for axial precession, the slow ~26,000-year wobble of Earth’s rotational axis. This axis means that on the equinox, very slowly the constellation that the sun is pointing to changes. In the time of the Greeks and their system of astrology, the sun was indeed in Aries, but over the last several thousand years, due to the wobble of our earth, on the spring equinox the sun is actually in Pisces! The Greeks did not account for this and kept the beginning of Aries the same, but sidereal astrologers account for this. Vedic astrologers in India also practice using sidereal calculations. Overall, it is a system that is more mathematically and astronomically accurate, putting our earth and its movements rightfully in their evolving, moving place amongst the solar system. Because things have shifted a lot over the last 2,000 years, we are about 24 degrees behind what a tropical chart says...meaning that your sun sign and many other placements in your chart are likely one prior to what you've heard before!
What are the limitations? Of course as with anything that describes our personality or lives, it cannot know everything. Astrology can't know the specifics of your upbringing or environment, the people you know, or other external factors. Though it can suggest certain overarching themes and events that are present, it won't be able to tell you why certain things happened to you. It cannot also predict events in your life with a promise of accuracy or granularity beyond themes and archetypes inherent to the planet involved. It cannot tell you when you'll meet a partner, when you will die, or what's going to happen to you tomorrow or in a week. It won't be able to tell you what will happen to other people in your life, or advise you on decisions. With this in mind, it is helpful to go into a session with curiosity and a desire to learn more about yourself and see where that leads.
What is it good for, and what can I expect out of a session? Sidereal astrology is great for understanding the accurate, literal, and physical place of our earth within the cosmos. With that understanding, and with the possibility of a birth chart very different than what you're used to, a deeper understanding of yourself can emerge. Finding a chart that represents reality can feel jarring at first, but ultimately resonates so much more. When you see yourself deeply in the chart and relate to what it says, self-awareness and knowledge can grow. Accurate interpretations yield more nuanced results and enable working with strengths and weaknesses, patterns and opportunities in ways that feel revolutionary. A chart reading is great to understand yourself better, to answer detailed questions about your own thought processes, habits, personality, trajectory, and life plan. You might discover a better career option, you might realize why certain relational patterns persist, or why you struggle to form habits. It can help with self-acceptance and joy. Just about no question is off limits, anything you want to know is all there. Your chart is YOU, after all! During and after a session you might have realizations about yourself that feel either negative or positive, but you can expect it to be illuminating and helpful. You can expect to sit in the session and hear the general breakdown of the chart, and then ask any detailed questions.
How does this work? First, fill out the form below so that I may gather information about your chart. Accuracy is very important here, if you are able to find your time of birth this will be incredibly helpful and provide an accurate look at your chart. Next, we will converse via email about scheduling an hour session via Google Meet, where I will share what I've learned and you can get all the details and ask questions!
All sessions are an hour long, held over Google Meet, at a rate of $75 per hour
